I know when i get my new 29er i will be asked why did you do it....why 29er.Well it's because i what to earn myself a cool nick name like my freind BIG WHEELS HAL.
So why did you? Just wondering. The big challenge is wheels. Although that is less of an issue now and you are not a big guy so a sub 1600 gram wheelset should be on your list of 29er stuff.
I am getting one for the longer rides unless i like it so much that i decide to ride it more.When i was in leadville i had a hard time seeing one 26 wheeled bike besides mine.Everyone was riding 29er's so i talked to lots of people and saw first hand the advantages.So i am going to try one and see if i like it.It will have gears for now but like my friend BIG WHEELS HAL told me single speed and 29" wheels go hand and hand.
C'dale Flash....Mainly because i really like the lefty fork.I do like Niner stuff and it would of been next choice.I haven't seen your new Niner yet but i sure liked Luc's bike that he built up last year.
I had one before as well. I just sold the old orange one that had 4 years on it and I am replacing it with the same thing this year. It was an Air9 Scandium, they have refined them some so they are more compliant vertically but stiffer from side to side than the one I had. I really like the new Lefty as well. If I was doing longer stuff then I probably would have sold the entire bike instead and got a C'Dale Flash Carbon. Most of the time though I am doing stuff that is under 2 hours, so I run a Niner Carbon fork now which is fantastic. I still have my Reba for longer bumpier rides. What BB30 cranks you running? Which model of Flash? BB30 is the way to go.

SS and 29 is all wrong.. only losers ride those.
And I didn't get a nickname.. but I did get called Bastard a few times, and someone asked me if I was compensating for something...
Bottom line is that having new toys is fun and the bigger the wheels the bigger the fun (I think)
